GOD’S PRECIOUS GIFT

Sue O’Donnell. 19.08.20

“He has made His wonderful works to be remembered. The LORD is gracious and full of compassion. He has given food to those who fear Him, He will ever be mindful of His covenant.” (Psalm 111 v 4, 5)

Dear Jesus, let us substantiate Your presence amongst us,

For You did promise this in the Eucharist.

And You always speak only as truth.

Let us then give witness by the difference You make to us,

Faith ever being a matter of trusting our Father through You,

Promising to be living in us according to the Eucharist.

It is by holiness we must give witness to this,

Bearing out the truth of the promise,

As we pray, help us to live Your way according to Your wisdom,

Displaying the riches of Your goodness towards us.

For Lord Jesus, You are nothing but faithfulness

And all loving, self giving, total kindness towards us.

“Is not your reverence your confidence and the integrity of your ways your hope?” (Job 4 v 6)

What happiness it is to experience this hope,

For surely it is by the power of such holy love,

We learn to respond, and life for Your family be properly fruitful.

Lord Jesus, come, come, come and help us!

May we maintain righteousness according to Your holiness,

As You gave us with the blessing of Your death and resurrection.

Your presence in the Eucharist, such a wondrous connection,

Connection to our forthcoming place alongside You in heaven.

Lord Jesus, You are the link between holiness and happiness.

For You are God’s precious gift to us.

“We must not only make Him the Object of our faith, hope and charity, but we must make it our duty not to believe the world, not to hope in the world, not to love the world.” (Blessed John Henry Newman)

“ ‘Watch therefore and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all the things that will come to pass,* (*Luke 21 v 25-28) and to stand before the Son of Man’.” (Luke 21 v 36)

Please pray.
